we saved a bunch by bailing on the mortgage, enough to buy a house a few miles away for 50k. we close in 3 weeks!

anyway, b of a still calls, we dont answer.

someone came by and took pictures the other day.

now, if we can just get cash for keys, it'll be all good!

Holy cow... $50k!!! for a house? good for you! What area are you in. We're in Northern Cal and we still can't buy a house in our neighborhood under $350k... I haven't saved that much:)

Good luck, I'm really glad you can start again. Tell BOA to shove it!

Awesome!!!!
I am doing the same thing. All the money I am saving, I am going to the next state over (PA) and buying a house for 50K aswell.
No mortgage, no rent, no HOA...etc....
No one gets any more of my $$$$$$ unless I approve of it.

Nice!!! More should consider that option. People (myself included) have become too emotionally attached for our homes. Even though some are underwater by 50%.

Thanks Aces!!!!
We have family up there and everytime we go up & visit we never want to leave...
So why not look into buying up there. It will add a commute time to work (in NJ), but with no
Mortgage, I'm sure it'll be worth it.

Judi...
Who are you telling?????
I owned the house for 7 years. I went from 3500, to 4500, 5500, 6500,6800,7500, to now 9300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went from literaly went from $1650+/- a month to now $2300 +/-..... All due to taxes, insurance...etc....
Not to mention my homeowners went from 1000 to now 1400, then to top it all off my car premiums got jacked up...
Its almost seems like its all a plan to get you out of NJ......

Congrats on your new home purchase. Buying a house free and clear is always the best. You don't have to deal with the banks and pay them interest. Also the peace of mind that if for some reason you lose income in the future, the banks can't take away your home. During the boom the banksters were planning in the future to take away everybodys home if they could and pocket all the interest made.
