    Hello. Back in 2010 we combined our HELOC and mortage for a loan mod. Starting in 2010 we pay 2.25% for years 1-5 then year 6 3.25 then 5% for remainder..     Change permanent loan mod and re-negotiate?

    I got approved for a permanent loan mod back in June with Chase. Year 8-40 is fixed at 5%. I have been reading on some of the boards that 8 and beyond is fixed at 4.25%. Do you think I shouold go back to them? Obviously interest rates have dropped since we got the mod.

    Our interest only payment was $2911. Our new payment is now $1714 which was the mod amount. We were current and we did 5 mod payments.
